Hey COOPers, I'm really interested in seeing this show: I AM A CAMERA at the Neo-Futurists. It is essentially a play, but it uses projections of hundreds of photographs, as well as photos taken live during the performance, to examine the psychology of photography and people's behavior. It's directed by Greg Allen, the founder of the Neo-Futurists. (You may know their flagship show, TOO MUCH LIGHT MAKES THE BABY GO BLIND.) Greg, in addition to being an accomplished theatre director and performance artist, has also been a photography enthusiast/experimenter for most of his life.
I'd be interested in organizing a COOP outing to see it. I'd enjoy going to the show with other photographers, to see what kind of discussions it provokes among us. I'm looking at Friday, February 26 or Friday, March 5.
Let me know if anyone else is interested in going. Admission is $15. I already checked, there are no group or photographer discounts.
